Traveling broadens the mind and offers you memories to last a lifetime. However, some places leave individuals with memories and experiences they’d much rather forget. Travelers shared on social media their experiences and why they never want to go back to these 15 tourist destinations.

Egypt

One social media user speaks of avoiding Egypt if you’re a solo female traveler. Another individual replies to the thread, stating that their girlfriend encountered an unpleasant vibe while visiting the pyramids. Although nothing ‘happened’, she was asked to pose for a lot of photographs.

Hollywood, California

This individual speaks of how they live down the road from Hollywood and think it’s dirty and crime-ridden. Another traveler responds to their social media thread, stating that their girlfriend visited Hollywood Blvd. Walk of Fame but the smell of urine was so bad, she just had to leave.

India

One traveler says they wouldn’t recommend India, especially for young, attractive females. Other social media users go on to say how the country isn’t safe for foreign females, especially those who are blonde, with one individual speaking of how groups of males used to swarm his friend and shove phone cameras in her face.

Multiple social media users have listed Dubai as a place they wouldn’t go back to. One individual recalls their experience, stating how they traveled there with a few girlfriends. They believe that if you’re not staying in a luxury hotel, you’re treated with hostility.

Bondi Beach, Australia

One traveler lists Bondi Beach as one of the destinations they wouldn’t head back to, as it’s one of the worst beaches in Sydney. They go on to say how crowded it is, and that you’re swimming/relaxing with millions of other people. Other social media users agree that there are much nicer beaches nearby.

Nassau, the Bahamas

This traveler wouldn’t head back to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. It’s where all the cruise ships dock and they state that the whole town is dedicated to trapping tourists into buying overpriced items. They also recalled their time here, saying you can’t walk more than 2 feet without somebody trying to sell you something.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Although a popular spot with many, this traveler recommends avoiding Cabo San Lucas. They recall their honeymoon there in 2017, with their wife. Although they never left the tourist areas, this individual recounts that their wife’s drink was still drugged. They also had a friend who was given a laced drink in Cabo San Lucas.

Plymouth Rock, United States

One social media user recounts how ‘lame’ Plymouth Rock was. Another individual replies to the same thread, stating that it’s a ‘stupid little rock’ with zero historical significance. Other users go on to say how they were disappointed with Plymouth in general, as it’s not a very interesting place.

Land’s End, England

This traveler speaks of the popular tourist attraction, Land’s End in Cornwall. They believe it exists only to rob tourists of their money, through overpriced beverages and rubbish souvenirs. They go on to say that John O’Groats in Scotland is the same. Other social media users suggest heading to Lizard Point instead.

Times Square – New York, United States

Times Square in New York is another tourist attraction that some travelers would avoid heading back to. This individual states how it just offers a few billboards, buskers, and shops, as well as ‘overly-aggressive’ muppet characters who are trying to separate you from your cash.

Disneyland Paris, France

Disneyland Paris is another place that some social media users would not go back to, after spending the day being pushed around by angry parents and surrounded by crying children. Another individual replied to say that Disneyworld in Orlando is the same, except you also have to deal with the sweltering heat.

Blackpool, England

One social media user suggests how they’ve never seen as much public nudity as in Blackpool. They speak of visiting a bar that had a glass dancefloor above. From the ground, you could see people dancing above, some of which didn’t have underwear on. Another individual spoke of how ‘grim’ Blackpool looked during their visit.

Salem, United States

This traveler says that Salem in Massachusetts is the biggest tourist trap they’ve ever seen. Another individual speaks of how they find the place distasteful and creepy, as the town themes itself on a historical event, where innocent people were killed because they were thought to be witches.

Stonehenge, England

Although Stonehenge is loved by many, one traveler found it to be ‘dinky’ after visiting. Another individual stated the visit just isn’t worthwhile, as there’s only so much to look at. Other social media users commented on how there are better stone circles to visit in the UK that are way cheaper.

Venice, Italy

A social media user spoke of their experience in Venice, Italy. They said the city was super crowded, and everywhere they went, it smelled like raw sewage. Not to mention, this traveler found the city to be really expensive and got the vibe it was a ‘well-oiled’ tourist trap. They finished by stating it was their least favorite destination!
