Their story

Base Camp Greenland was established in 2015 by Natural Habitat Adventures as the first and only luxury wilderness camp in East Greenland’s remote Sermilik Fjord. Founded on principles of sustainable tourism and Arctic exploration, it emerged from Olaf Malver’s pioneering kayaking expeditions in the 1980s. The camp offers an unprecedented blend of comfort and adventure in one of Earth’s most isolated regions, with eight safari-style tent cabins providing surprising luxury amid raw Arctic wilderness. Operating just two months each summer, it maintains minimal environmental impact while giving guests intimate access to massive glaciers, floating icebergs, and authentic Inuit culture through activities like kayaking, hiking and Zodiac excursions.
