Black Rock Lodge’s story began in the early 1970s when Caesar Sherrard and his son Julian discovered the magical Black Rock Falls while exploring the Macal River Valley. Falling in love with the location, they leased the land from the Belize government. In 2007, the property was transformed into what it is today – a 20-cabin eco-resort. Adjacent to the Don Elijio Panti Nature Reserve, the lodge has become a sanctuary where adventure meets conservation, offering guests an authentic jungle experience while preserving Belize’s natural heritage.
