Nestled in the woods bordering Yosemite National Park, Evergreen Lodge is a historic mountain resort that seamlessly blends timeless charm with modern luxury. This 20-acre property, established in 1921, features secluded cabins scattered among towering pines, offering an authentic wilderness experience with contemporary comforts.
The resort provides upscale accommodations ranging from cozy cabins to luxury glamping tents, complete with private decks and modern amenities. Guests can enjoy the property’s saltwater pool, historic tavern, farm-to-table restaurant, and guided Yosemite adventures, making it an ideal basecamp for exploring one of America’s most iconic national parks.
Established in 1921, Evergreen Lodge began as a support facility for the O’Shaughnessy Dam construction in Hetch Hetchy Valley. Initially serving as a post office, restaurant, and general store, local stories tell of moonshine production in the basement during Prohibition and illegal slot machines in the tavern. For decades, it operated as a seasonal hotel for Yosemite visitors.
In 2001, new owners transformed it into a full-service resort while preserving its historic charm. Today, the lodge operates as a social enterprise, combining hospitality with environmental stewardship and youth employment programs, earning B Corporation certification in 2007. What started as a simple mountain lodge has evolved into a mission-driven destination that honors its heritage while embracing sustainable practices. Read more about them.
