Located on the tranquil shores of Lake Keurusselkä in central Finland, Keurusselkä Resort offers an authentic Nordic retreat experience combining natural beauty with modern comfort. This historic property features a main hotel, traditional log cabins, and comprehensive wellness facilities including Finnish saunas and a spa.
The resort provides year-round activities from summer hiking and canoeing to winter cross-country skiing. With accommodation for over 380 guests across its hotel rooms and cottages, the resort seamlessly blends Finnish hospitality with sustainable tourism practices, earning both Green Key and Sustainable Travel Finland certifications.
The journey of Keurusselkä Resort began in 1941 when the Finnish Holiday Association was founded to promote “folk tourism,” making holidays accessible to all families. In 1948, they discovered the perfect location by Lake Keurusselkä, with its magnificent lagoon and sandy beaches.
The original Holiday Hotel opened in 1949 with 32 rooms, quickly becoming a popular destination for the Finns. Expanding in 1977, it evolved into Hotel Keurusselkä, adding new facilities and the Keurusharju cottage village in 1991.
After the Holiday Association’s bankruptcy in 2009, the resort was revived in June 2020, now offering accommodation for over 380 guests across hotels and cottages. Today, it continues its legacy as a sustainable nature retreat, combining Finnish hospitality with modern amenities while preserving its historic charm. Read more about them.
