Their story

Rock Farm Slane was founded by Carina and Alex Mount Charles in 2010 when they took over Dean’s Farm, known locally as “The Rock,” from Alex’s father Lord Henry Mount Charles on the historic Slane Castle estate. The working farm had been used for pasture and barley for many years without inhabitants.

Passionate about sustainable living, the couple converted the property to organic standards and transformed it into an innovative ecotourism destination. What began as a vision for outdoor events evolved into a pioneering glamping experience after friend Charles Preston suggested yurts as accommodation.

Today, the organic farm offers a sanctuary to reconnect with Ireland’s ancient landscapes. Read more about them.
