Founded by Theofilos Chalkiadakis in 1980, Cactus Hotels began with the establishment of Cactus Beach Hotel. Over the years, the Chalkiadakis family has expanded the group, maintaining a focus on authentic Cretan hospitality and sustainable practices.

Best Time To Visit Cactus Hotels

  • Spring: The hotels opens in mid-April to mild temperatures and fewer visitors. While the sea may still be cool for most, bringing a wetsuit makes swimming enjoyable, or you can explore the many other activities.
  • Summer: Peak season kicks off as early as May, with hot sunny days and warm Mediterranean waters perfect for beach activities, water sports, and lounging by the pool.
  • Autumn: Daytime temperatures remain warm (think shorts and T-shirts), with slightly cooler evenings. The atmosphere is relaxed, with fewer guests, allowing you to fully enjoy the facilities and evening events.
