As part of Churchill Wild’s family-run operation with nearly 100 years of northern heritage, this ecolodge delivers world-class polar bear safaris while maintaining the highest sustainability standards and eco-friendly operations in the heart of polar bear territory.

Their story

Churchill Wild was founded in 1993 when co-founder Mike Reimer and wildlife photographer Dennis Fast discovered the perfect ecolodge site while flying along Hudson Bay’s coast. Building on Jeanne’s family’s nearly 100-year tradition of adventure tourism in the Churchill area, Mike predicted the growth of polar bear tourism and secured permits to create the world’s first on-foot polar bear safari experience.

The family-owned company opened their first lodge in 1994 with just one guest and has since grown to operate three distinct fly-in ecolodges on the Hudson Bay coast.

Churchill Wild’s mission is to create friendships, change lives, and touch the Arctic by providing unique travel experiences that refresh the soul while building lifelong memories and Arctic knowledge. Read more about them.
