Their story

Turtle Village is the first-of-its-kind Indigenous Owned and Operated tourist destination within Treaty 2 Territory, the traditional home of the (7) Nations Anishinaabe of Riding Mountain. Named after the inspiration of a turtle and its protective home, the accommodation embodies the Anishinaabe principle of Minobimaadiziwin, “The Good Life.” This philosophy teaches living in balance with nature while respecting the earth and ensuring well-being for future generations.

Through zero-impact tourism, Turtle Village preserves the land while offering visitors a chance to experience this traditional way of life. This approach creates lasting connections between cultural heritage and environmental protection. Read more about them.
