Experience the rugged, natural beauty of Canada’s west coast at Wya Point Resort, a unique Indigenous-owned destination on Ucluelet First Nation’s traditional territory. Nestled on pristine private beaches and surrounded by 600 acres of old-growth forest, this remarkable resort offers luxurious lodge accommodations, waterfront yurts, and beachfront camping just minutes from Pacific Rim National Park.
Located on Vancouver Island’s remote northwest side of Barkley Sound, Wya Point seamlessly blends traditional Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ culture with modern sustainable hospitality, creating an authentic west coast adventure where guests can discover Indigenous traditions, values, and the untamed wilderness of this spectacular coastal landscape.
Wya Point Resort represents the realization of Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ’s dream to build a sustainable, modern village where visitors and residents could experience their traditional territory, hospitality, and values. Built on the site of an old village, the resort began in 2011 with a 20-plot campground and RV sites, expanded with oceanfront yurts in 2012, and completed nine luxury lodges by March 2014.
The Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ, a Modern Treaty Self-Governing Nation and signatory of the Maa-nulth Treaty, have existed in harmony with this land of rugged beauty and raw wilderness for centuries. Their commitment extends beyond hospitality to celebrating their living culture and sharing traditional knowledge with future generations. Read more about them.
